Sporting entertainment brand ESPN has renewed its partnership with online ticketing marketplace, Vivid Seats.
The partnership has already spanned five years after the pair came together in 2017 to integrate ticket-buying capabilities into ESPN’s various platforms, including its website and app.
Geoff Lester, Vivid Seats chief commercial officer, said: “Our partnership with ESPN will continue to leverage our state-of-the-art technology platform to ensure that it can provide ESPN’s impressive base of users with a highly personalised, seamless ticketing experience only Vivid Seats can provide.
“As we continue to partner with category leaders like ESPN, the extension of our relationship is another strategic step in solidifying Vivid Seats’ position as the marketplace of choice.”
As part of the renewal deal, Vivid Seats will advertise across ESPN platforms to drive awareness of its new brand identity. The Chicago-headquartered firm will also continue to be the provider of ticket links and digital banner advertising for sporting events on these platforms.
ESPN boasts nine US television networks plus various other media outlets including radio and news websites. The brand is 80% owned by ABC, which is an indirect subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company and 20% by media conglomerate Hearst.
Andrew Messina, senior vice-president of Disney Advertising Sales, added: “We are very proud of the long-standing relationship between ESPN and Vivid Seats. The continuation of this collaborative effort is a great win for both ESPN and Vivid Seats and we’re excited about the anticipated growth from here.”
Vivid Seats also recently celebrated the sale of its 100 millionth ticket.
The operator marked the occasion by donating $100,000 (£73,500/€88,200) to charity MusiCares, which helps those working in music in their time of need.
