Tom Ewald, the former vice-president of music at Eventbrite, has been named as the chief revenue officer of promoter software startup Prism.fm.
He will lead sales in his new role at the company, which licenses software that helps venues and promoters centralise their data and revenue streams with tools that assist with artist offers, calendar management and show settlements.
Ewald worked at Ticketfly for close to a decade before it was bought by Eventbrite in 2017, where he continued to work for two more years. During that time he oversaw sales to help Ticketfly grow into a dominant ticketing firm for independent promoters.
Last year, Eventbrite officials announced they were sunsetting the Ticketfly brand. Prior to 2009 when he joined the firm, the ticketing industry veteran worked for Ticketmaster and Ticketweb.
Andy Donner, senior vice-president for music and corporate development for Eventbrite said in a statement: ”Tom is a true music ticketing veteran and we’re thankful for the many years of service and the dedication he’s shown towards his team and his clients at both Ticketfly and Eventbrite. The team here wishes him all the best as he explores new horizons beyond the ticketing business.”
Prism.fm secured $2.2m (£1.8m/€2m) in seed funding from a number of angel investors in March and has been implemented by over 100 promoters and 500 venues around the globe.
