Comedy platform Punchup Live has acquired ticketing provider Tixologi in an all-equity deal.
The move has seen ticketing infrastructure integrated directly into Punchup’s ecosystem, enabling ticket purchasing and advanced marketing capabilities for comedy shows of all sizes.
Tixologi will continue to operate independently, supporting its existing roster of clients across live music, sports and self-service events. With its ticketing technology integrated into Punchup Live, comedians, producers and venues will have access to new tools to sell tickets and grow their audiences.
Punchup comedians and venues will now be able to embed ticket sales within their profile pages and content, while gaining access to improved data, smarter targeting and a smoother checkout experience. Early tests have suggested that 80% of fans who start the checkout process complete their purchase, while anti-scalping solutions have been designed to prioritise genuine fans.
Additional product features include synced venue and comedian pages to ensure consistent and accurate show details, chargeback protections and faster payouts, and purpose-built attribution analysis to track and optimise conversions.
“With this acquisition, we’re making ticketing frictionless for comedians and their fans,” said Alex Dajani, chief technology officer of Punchup Live.
“Whether you’re promoting your first open mic or selling out a theatre tour, you can now sell tickets directly within our site – no more sending people off-platform.”
Tixologi founder Asher Weiss added: “We’ve always had a vision to create the best possible ticketing system and integrating our technology into the Punchup ecosystem will drive us into the future. Our innovative tech will now have new applications and support even more creators.”
