Ticketmaster is set to introduce its new, enhanced Apple Wallet ticket technology at the forthcoming Australian Open, which runs from January 12 (Sunday) to 26 in Melbourne.
The company was first to enable the new, enhanced ticket experience in Apple Wallet in the US, and is now looking to expand the feature internationally.
Tickets in Apple Wallet allows fans to see information such as a map of the venue, a curated Australian Open playlist from Apple Music, and access to location sharing.
“Working closely with Apple and the Australian Open, we are proud to be the first market outside of the US to deliver the enhanced ticket in Apple Wallet experience to fans,” said Ticketmaster Australia managing director Gavin Taylor.
“Bringing this enhancement to fans will allow us to deliver an unbeatable event day experience, throughout the Australian Open.”
Only fans with iPhones running on iOS 18.0 or later will be able to use the Apple Wallet ticketing feature.
It is due to be available across all Australian Open events starting with the first tennis match of the main draw on Sunday.
