The UK’s Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has added GigPig as an industry partner.

GigPig is a music and entertainment marketplace that provides venues with access to thousands of artists across the country, while also providing a portfolio live music and entertainment management solutions.

The platform has also been named as an official partner for the Night Time Economy Summit 2025, which is set to be hosted in Birmingham.

GigPig also recently published The Live Music Index, talking to thousands of artists and venues operating in the ‘seed’ section of the industry.

There are roughly 43,600 musicians active in the UK and more than half (56%) regularly perform in the seed music scene. While the incomes for artists vary widely, many can earn good money from seed music performances.

According to the report, average earnings amounted to £2,079 (€2,500/$2,625) per month or £24,948 a year.

For the venues, the top benefits of hosting live music include improving atmosphere, increasing revenue and footfall, supporting local musicians, connecting local communities and inspiring repeat visits.

In May, Manchester-headquartered GigPig revealed it had secured new investment.

GigPig began operations in 2022 and has since facilitated more than 35,000 gigs. The business was founded by Michael Forster, Kit Muir-Rogers, Andrew Garner and Ed Francis.
