Paul vs Tyson generates record-breaking ticket sales

The Jake Paul-Mike Tyson boxing match made history as it made a gate of $18,117,072 (£14.3m/€17.2m) with more than 72,300 people in attendance and an average ticket price of $304.

The bout, which was won by Paul at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, was shown on Netflix and ended up as the most-streamed sporting event ever with an estimated average minute audience of more than 108 million live viewers globally from opening to closing bell.

The event also featured the co-main event of Amanda Serrano versus Katie Taylor which saw the latter remain as the undisputed super lightweight champion.

Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions, which staged the event alongside Netflix, states than this number makes it the highest-grossing combat sports gate outside of Las Vegas in US history.

“Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 rewrote the record books, solidifying Most Valuable Promotions as a trailblazer in combat sports,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions.

“From setting the highest gate outside of Las Vegas in US history for a combat sports event to becoming the most streamed sporting event in US history, this event is a testament to the global impact of Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, and the incredible athletes on this card.
