Founder and former executive producer of SM Entertainment Lee Soo-man has launched rival agency A20 Entertainment and is set to introduce its first new K-pop group.

Last year, Lee left SM Entertainment, which represents stars such as Kangta and Girls’ Generation, but he has now returned to the music industry.

The new company released a teaser video of new artists on its social media channels introducing them in four different groups – HTG, LTG, HTB, and LTB.

The video shows dance clips of 15 individuals with the credits “produced by S.M. Lee” shown at the end.

“A2O is a collaborative global artist development platform where rookies receive training in one of four groups, organized by age,” read a statement from A20 Entertainment.

“As they grow, the A2O Rookies in the LTB group will transition to HTB, and those in LTG will shift to HTG.

“Throughout their training, the rookies will showcase captivating performances on the A2O Channel, either as solo acts or as units.

“Please join us in supporting these rookies as they develop and debut as artists!”

The company explained that HTG is an acronym for high teen girls aged 16 and up, LTG is low teen girls, aged 15 and under, HTB is high teen boys, aged 16 and up, whereas LTB means low teen boys, aged 15 and under.

The agency has also introduced a new genre called “Zalpha-Pop” which targets the Zalpha Generation, spanning people born in the mid-1990s to those born in the 2010s.
