Tickets for zoos across the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh will soon be available through a unified ticketing platform.
Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, said that he would work hard to introduce the new ticketing platform as soon as possible, in a bid to simplify the tourist experience.
The revenue generated by the platform will be reinvested in conservation efforts, protecting the welfare of wildlife, and infrastructure improvements, as reported by the Press Trust of India.
Sukhu made the announcement during the 73rd Wildlife Week’s closing ceremony in the state’s capital city, Shimla (pictured).
The revenue generated by the unified ticketing platform will be important to helping the state in protecting its wildlife.
“Our state’s natural beauty, dense forests, snow-covered Himalayan peaks and the precious wildlife are not just our heritage but our lifeline,” said Sukhu.
He added: “Protecting them is not only our responsibility but also an imperative for future generations.”
