MSG Sports has extended its ‘Fan First’ programme for its teams, the NBA’s New York Knicks and the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers, which will see registrants continue to have exclusive access to tickets ahead of everyone else.

The ‘Fan First’ programme first launched in March last year, and has witnessed roughly 100,000 Knicks and Rangers fans sign up to early access to purchase tickets. The programme aims to reach the loyal and verified Knicks and Rangers fan base directly, helping to prevent them from paying inflated prices for tickets on the secondary market.

Additionally, the programme helps to ensure the legitimacy of their tickets.

“Knicks and Rangers fans deserve better than paying inflated ticket prices set by brokers on the secondary market,” said Jamaal Lesane, chief operating officer of MSG Sports.

“We launched the ‘Fan First’ programme to put our fans first and brokers last, ensuring our dedicated fans can access the tickets they want at face value, and we encourage all fans to sign up ahead of the upcoming seasons.”

Earlier this year, the Knicks and Rangers announced they would maintain their season ticket prices for the 2024-25 seasons. The two franchises share the 19,500-capacity Madison Square Garden.

Both the NHL and NBA seasons will begin in October, with the Rangers away at the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Knicks travelling to the Boston Celtics.
