BookMyShow to ticket India’s new social media-driven cricket league

India’s new Entertainers Cricket League (ECL) has announced BookMyShow as exclusive ticketing partner during its inaugural season.

The social influencer-driven T10 cricket league will feature celebrities such as YouTubers Abhishek Malhan and Elvish Yadav. The 96 content creators taking part have more than 700 million followers, and organisers expect a total viewing audience of more than one billion.

ECL Season 1 features 19 matches in 10 days played by six franchises. The league kicks off this month at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

Cricket and entertainment fans can now buy tickets for live action via BookMyShow. Ticket prices range from around $2 to around $120.

ECL founder Anil Kumar said: “With BookMyShow as our ticketing partner, we’re ensuring fans have easy and quick access to tickets for this one-of-a-kind cricket league.

“The ECL is set to redefine how fans engage with both cricket and entertainment, and we’re excited to welcome them to the stadium to witness their favourite creators live in action.  We look forward to an unforgettable season filled with intense competition and unmatched entertainment.”

The ECL participants will represent a wide range of industries, including technology, finance, infotainment, education, motivation and self-help, entertainment, vlogging, gaming, fashion, and lifestyle.

Anil Makhija, chief operating officer of live entertainment at BookMyShow, said: “We are excited to partner with the Entertainers Cricket League for what promises to be a groundbreaking fusion of sports and entertainment. At BookMyShow, we’re dedicated to providing fans with seamless ticketing as well as on ground experiences, and we’re thrilled to bring this unique league to cricket and digital content enthusiasts alike.”
