The New York Mets have launched a new flexible ticketing membership plan called Mets Flex for the 2025 season.

It includes six different pricing tiers for fans and provides access to a range of marquee games during the next campaign at Citi Field.

The Major League Baseball club states that it is introducing Mets Flex due to research that found supporters wanted to have greater control and flexibility around which games, and how many, to attend.

This keeps them from being tied to certain matches as with a traditional fixed season ticket.

“Our general approach going forward is to be far more fan centric, enhancing our fans’ accessibility to games through structured discounts and the ability to sit in different areas around the ballpark for a customised experience,” said senior vice-president of ticketing at the New York Mets Jake Bye.

“This flexible option was something we heard consistently from Mets fans and using that feedback and the data research from our analytics team, we created multiple program tiers designed to give fans even more options to create a package that meets their unique needs.”

The 2025 season ticket renewal period is currently open until September 16 for existing members while new memberships are already available to purchase.

The plan bases ticket purchases on a predetermined amount of spending, instead of set numbers of games and fixed seating locations.

Fans can adjust on a day-to-day basis which games they choose to attend, how many people are in their party, and where they sit.

Spending levels for the plan range from less than $1,000 (£750/€900) to $50,000.

The Mets are not the first MLB team to move towards flexible ticketing. The Seattle Mariners introduced a similar scheme in 2019 and eight additional sides have since developed similar programmes.

The Mets currently have the 11th best record in the league and average around 28,000 fans in attendance per game.
