Wembley Stadium has appointed Mark Lynch as the new stadium director.

Lynch has joined from the Rugby Football Union (RFU), where he was executive director of venue, with responsibility for Twickenham Stadium including operations, revenue, events and long-term development. 

Prior to his role with the RFU, Lynch was operations director at Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and also worked on two FIFA World Cup tournaments. 

“I am delighted to take up the position of stadium director at England’s national stadium,” commented Lynch.

“Wembley Stadium is an iconic venue recognised around the world. It has a history of hosting the biggest and best sports, music and entertainment events and I look forward to continuing that work in the next stage of the venue’s development.”

Sydney Festival has added three new non-executive members to its board, in the form of Abs Osseiran, Yeesum Lo and Dr Sunil Badami. 

The additions to the board will help to guide the festival’s growth and strategic direction. 

“I’m thrilled to welcome Abs, Yeesum and Sunil to our Board. Each will contribute their vision, technical expertise, lived experience and professional insights to the growth and future success of Sydney Festival. They join a board dedicated to supporting the Festival team in its extraordinary task of delivering a rich and inclusive festival in January, where the arts and artists shine brightly across the city,” commented Kate Dundas, chair of Sydney Festival.

Seat Unique has assembled a board of advisors in the form of Alastair Lukies CBE, Dame Alison Rose, Sir Michael Lockett, Tim Griffin and Damien O’Donohoe, complimenting the experience of existing board members, chairperson Richard Flint and Saav Shah of Nickleby Capital.

It follows the news that Seat Unique has secured £14.5m (€17m/$19m) in Series A funding. 

Former England rugby captain Dylan Hartley has been named an ambassador for Arena, an event solutions and temporary structure provider.

Hartley joins the likes of joins PGA golfer Ryan Fox, Challenge Tour golfer Curtis Knipes and Ladies European Tour golfer Harang Lee as an ambassador.

“Dylan was an inspirational sportsman with an unparalleled drive to succeed and we are thrilled to welcome him to Arena as our newest ambassador,” said Ross Robertson, managing director of Arena Group UKE.

Music company BMG has appointed Celine Joshua as executive vice president, global marketing.

Joshua will be based out of Los Angeles and will report to BMG chief executive Thomas Coesfeld. She will oversee the company’s marketing strategy and operations across its 20 offices worldwide. 

Joshua was most recently executive vice president of commercial innovation and artist strategy at Universal Music Group, having joined in 2018.
