For the ‘superfans’
South Korean music giant Hybe has launched a new strategy for its global business, Hybe 2.0. Part of this new strategy will focus on the ‘superfan’, by adding new monetisation features to its global Weverse platform. The app specialises in hosting multimedia content, the sale of artist-related merchandise, content subscription, and artist-to-fan communications for artists. Beginning in the fourth quarter of this year, Weverse will introduce subscription-based membership for artists.
Going out
Zomato, a food and delivery platform based in Gurugram, India, has announced the launch of District, a new app for going out. The company will use the new app to increase its focus on dining out, live events and ticketing. In June, it was reported that Zomato was looking to acquire the movie ticketing and events division of fintech company Paytm.
A decade-long deal
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) has announced a 10-year partnership with Showpass, a Calgary-headquartered ticketing and discovery platform. KIJHL is a junior hockey league contested in British Columbia, Canada, and Washington State in the US. The partnership will begin with the 2024-25 season, which will get underway next month.
