Paris FC said the free ticket promotion allows it to affirm its social commitment by making football more attractive for supporters. Attendances doubled at its second-tier BKT Ligue 2 matches at Stade Charléty after the promotion was introduced in November 2023.
When introducing the strategy last year, the club said the assistance of the club’s shareholders and partners meant new resources would be generated that would “significantly outweigh” the resulting costs and revenue shortfalls.
Free tickets do not include VIP packages or premium seats at the Stade Charléty.
Pierre Ferracci, president of Paris FC, said: “We are very happy to continue to offer free admission to all of our matches at the Stade Charléty. We have brought together and united an audience, while committing ourselves with strength and conviction.”
He added: “We would like to thank all of our partners without whom this system would not have been possible. We are convinced that a club is the ideal tool to unite goodwill and respond at its level to societal challenges.”
The club has also launched ‘1 match / 1 cause’, an operation which consists of highlighting a different non-profit association during each match with the aim of supporting the chosen association.
More than 105,000 people attended the club’s Ligue 2 and D1 Arkema women’s matches free of charge last season at an average of 7,140. The match against Saint-Étienne attracted 17,358 – a first-ever sell-out and record attendance at Stade Charléty.
Earlier this month, German club Fortuna Düsseldorf announced it would continue its ‘Fortuna for all’ initiative into the new season. A further four free games will be available to fans.
