Ticketek Australia has announced the introduction of Apple Pay on the Ticketek.com.au platform.
In confirming the development, Ticketek Australia becomes the first major ticketing company in the country to offer Apple Pay’s one-tap payment option to customers.
Apple Pay offers a frictionless way for fans on iOS devices to pay for tickets. According to Ticketek Australia, this will reduce transaction times and drive higher conversion.
The latest figures suggest that Apple Pay has about 500 million global users, with a sharp increase since the start of the decade. The number of Apple Pay users has rocketed globally by 26.2% since 2020, with an 18.5% increase in the US alone since 2022.
Geoff Jones, CEO of Ticketek Australia parent company TEG Group, said: “Today, I am delighted to announce that Ticketek Australia has partnered with Apple, to become the first major ticketing company in Australia to offer fans the opportunity to purchase tickets to their favourite events via Apple Pay.
“Apple Pay now joins Qantas Frequent Flyers, Google Pay and Afterpay as Ticketek’s list of world-class partners by delivering fans the ultimate flexibility and choice by utilising a simple, one-tap payment option.”
