Jennifer Lopez has cancelled the US leg of her This Is Me… Live Tour as she is “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends”, according to Live Nation.

The entertainment giant has assured fans that they will be automatically refunded while Lopez has addressed her supporters through her On the Jlo newsletter.

“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote.

“I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.

“I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”

The tour followed the release of Lopez’s ninth studio album ‘This Is Me… Now’, her first in five years, which was released 20 years after her hit album ‘This Is Me… Then’.

The two-month tour of the US and Canada was set to begin in Orlando on June 26 and conclude in Houston on August 31.

Ticket sales were initially slow and led to it being rebranded as a greatest hits tour.

It was reported that the album sold just 14,000 copies during its first week, becoming just the second of Lopez’s albums to place outside of the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.
