SeatGeek has extended its partnership with English football club Reading, which currently plays in League One.

The platform will remain Reading’s primary ticketing technology partner after five years of collaboration.

As part of the deal, Reading and SeatGeek will work on enhancing digital ticketing by fast-tracking the adoption of mobile season tickets and match tickets. Reading’s home ground is the 24,161-capacity Madejski Stadium, which is also known as Select Car Leasing Stadium for sponsorship reasons.

“For several seasons now, we have worked closely with SeatGeek to elevate the ticket-buying experience for our fans and commercial objectives,” said Paul Collins, head of ticketing at Reading FC. “We’ve seen tangible benefits and results of this partnership and look forward to working closely with SeatGeek going forward.”

SeatGeek’s portfolio of football clubs includes English Premier League teams Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle United, as well as Championship sides Leicester City, Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Stoke City.

Last month, SeatGeek also renewed its partnership with Championship team Middlesbrough.

Additionally, SeatGeek holds deals with clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the United Soccer League (USL).

“Reading FC is a club built on decades of rich history and steadfast supporter devotion,” said Peter Joyce, managing director, EMEA at SeatGeek.

“When we first began our journey with Reading five years ago, we knew we’d be working with a team dedicated to providing those visiting Select Car Leasing Stadium with a best-in-class match day experience. Fast-forward to today, and we are proud of the strength of our partnership with the shared desire to deliver an unparalleled ticketing experience to those in the stands, as well as the back-office, and we look forward to the exciting future ahead.”
