The Washington Nationals Major League Baseball (MLB) side has released an exclusive ticket offer for the city’s residents with prices starting as low as $5 (£3.90/€4.50) for value and regular games.
The team then lists prime, marquee, and diamond matches at $9, $15, and $25, respectively.
Fans with the District Tickets will be seated in sections 401 and 402 down the left field line of the 41,339-capacity Nationals Park.
The offer is available for all home fixtures including matches against premier opponents, theme games, and the first game of the season at Nationals Park against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 1.
In order to be eligible for the deal, supporters must present a valid Washington, DC driver’s license to show proof of residency.
The tickets are only available for purchase at the Nationals Park box office, with a limit of four games per transaction.
All District Tickets will be delivered via the MLB Ballpark app, are non-transferrable and cannot be resold.
The Nationals’ previous $5 ticket offer, which took place from the opening of Nationals Park in 2008, made roughly 400 tickets available for purchase two hours before the first pitch.
“[The new programme] gives the Nationals the chance to say thank you to our neighbours for their support throughout the years and during the 2024 season,” read a Nationals statement.
The Nationals drew in an average attendance of 23,034 for the 2023 season as the team posted a win-loss record of 71-91 to finish last place in the National League East division for the third year running.
