Liverpool fans have already been rocked by the news that manager Jürgen Klopp (pictured right) is set to leave the club at the end of the season, but now resale prices for tickets to the 56-year-old’s last game in charge have reached over £34,000 (€40,000/$43,000).
An earlier article from The Mirror reported that tickets for the last game of the season at Anfield against Wolverhampton Wanderers were reselling for as much as £18,000, with VAT and service fees increasing the final price to £24,480.
Klopp is set to leave the Premier League club after almost nine years in charge, with the seats in question located in Block L5 at the front of the Main Stand, just behind the Liverpool dugout. The report added that these tickets are usually sold by the club for £60.
A search of comparison site SeatPick this morning (Monday) now listed tickets via StubHub International for as much as £34,760.
The cheapest available resale tickets for the May 19 game amounted to £1,180 each at the time of writing.
Klopp announced that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season on Friday, and said: “I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take.
“It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”
