Tickets for the Lionesses’ clash with reigning world champions USA sold out within just 24 hours of going on sale.
England’s women will face the US in a friendly at Wembley in October, with fans rushing to purchase tickets.
The Football Association (FA)’s website briefly crashed on Tuesday after tickets went on sale because of the number of fans trying to purchase a seat at the match.
On Sunday, England beat Germany in the final of the Women’s Euro 2022 at Wembley, which was watched by a record crowd of 87,192.
Subsequent demand for women’s sport has rocketed, with even the Rugby Football Union (RFU) claiming a surge in interest for England women’s rugby tickets.
Tickets went on sale for the friendly on Tuesday afternoon, and England announced on social media at 2pm yesterday (Wednesday) that tickets had already sold out. Only hospitality options remained available to purchase.
