Premier Productions acquires ticketing firm Platform

Premier Productions, a US faith-based concert promoter, has acquired ticketing and conference registration software Platform, as well as volunteer recruitment platform Loop.

Platform’s main market includes churches, which Premier says is an “underserved market in need of a robust ticketing solution.”

Under the agreement with Loop, Premier will help to connect volunteers with non-profits and artists in need of a volunteer base to help run events. Loop has reportedly recruited more than 18,000 volunteers for more than 500 events since launching in 2015.

Premier Productions produces more than 600 events per year, currently promoting artists and shows including Hillsong United, Dude Perfect, Lauren Daigle, the Gaithers, Hillsong Worship, Casting Crowns and others.

According to Pollstar’s Worldwide Ticket Sales Top 100 from 2019, Premier was the fourth most lucrative promoter in the US and No. 13 worldwide, just behind TEG Dainty, based on ticket sales with more than 1.7 million tickets sold.

Premier has also announced chief executive Michael Pugh has been named partner, and has promoted Dan Rauter to vice-president of strategy and partnership.

The firm has also named Jonathan Roberts as senior talent buyer, while Rann Russell and Mallory Willingham have become talent buyers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michael Pugh as a partner,” said Shane Quick, co-owner of Premier Productions, Pollstar reports. “Michael, Jonathan Roberts and Dan Rauter embody the leadership action and influence of a dream team. We sold 1.7 million tickets in 2019 and they are keys to that success and our future.”
