Startup Ticket Tailor is offering event organisers a free service for generating personalised privacy policies in the lead up to the GDPR deadline in May.
Ticket Tailor, founded in 2011, is a platform that provides venues and event organisers with the tools to manage their ticketing.
The firm’s newly launched Privacy Policy Generator requires users to enter some basic information, such as their business name and how they collect and use data. Ticket Tailor states that the “generator does the rest” in creating the GDPR-compliant policy.
GDPR is a regulation in European Union law on data protection and privacy that comes into effect on May 25. It introduces enhanced responsibilities on organisations operating in the EU that collect personal data.
Chief executive Jonny White said: “With the EU’s GDPR regulations coming in to force soon we wanted to make the road to compliance easier for event organisers.
“It doesn’t make sense for every organiser to pay a lawyer to draw them up a privacy policy. This tool allows them to create a policy for their organisation in minutes, absolutely free of charge.”
The generator asks organisers questions about their data-collecting habits, such as “do you obtain consent for email marketing?” and “do you use tracking pixels from advertising networks?”
